Leaving a Legacy

This last Sunday Pastor Duckett spoke on leaving a legacy.  This entails first and foremost being connected to the power of God through Christ Jesus.  In our weaknesses and infirmities we are made strong through God's grace.  This dynamic gives glory to God as His power and might are displayed as we go through trials and adversities despite our frailties.
Reallying on God's power is the only way to succeed.  Once that is established we can then leave a lasting legacy by committing the faith to those of the next generation who are qualified to teach others. This is how the faith can propagate.
Lastly we as believers must be prepared to pay the price and endure hardships.  Having a level of dedication to the cause of Christ, a single-mindedness.  We are in spiritual warfare.  We may know we must fight, but we should also know how to fight and deal with the enemy.

Acts Chapter 2

Sunday, August 12th Pastor Duckett delivered a sermon that was directed to the church body.  The Holy Spirit empowers the church.  We as the body should work toward being on one accord.  God wishes for us to work toward His goals in harmony.

We are gearing up for the annual New Vision Christian Church picnic.  It will be held Saturday the 18th in  Millcreek park.

The Body

     With Pastor Duckett on vacation, Rev Sechrist delivered a very apt sermon on July 29th, 2012.  It was concerning some of the responsibilities of the body of Christ.  The church age began at Pentecost and with that, Jesus ascended and left us with a helper, the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is who empowers the
believer to do God's work.  Here is an acronym that can be used to recall the directives of the church:

Instruction (of the Apostles)
Fellowship

Worship
Evangelism

Lets keep that in mind as we go forth under God's great commission.

Is it hot enough for you?

Another wonderful service Sunday service was given on July 15th. 
 In Sunday school Rev Sechrist continued his survey of Genesis.  We covered the sacrifice of Isaac and the contrast of the sacrifice of our Saviour The Lord Jesus.  Many spiritual truths and foundations are being shared.

We are in prayer for a building and we ask our fellow believers to join us in prayer for insight and to open the door for where God would place us on our assignment.  We are also preapring for our annual church picnic, we hope to see you there!
